Which is the real McKinsey Solve Game simulation?

I purchased the simulation from Case Basix and especially for Redrock, it has 10 cases after the investigation & analysis section. Can I please know the current changes in the new redrock study and which youtube video or website is at least a bit closer to the real redrock one?

Hi there,

Q: Can I please know the current changes in the new redrock study and which youtube video or website is at least a bit closer to the real redrock one?

The last version of Redrock has 4 sections: Investigation, Analysis, Report and Cases. The case section has only 6 cases now. There were 10 cases in that section in the past, but that’s no longer the case.

If you would like additional preparation, you can check my course and its reviews at the link below. We update it within a few days whenever there is any change, as we receive constant feedback from our users on the latest version of the game:

Good luck!

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the (presumed) invitation from McKinsey!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, the Redrock study game of the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment currently consists of four stages: the Investigation, Analysis, and Report stages of the study, as well as six so-called “cases”. However, I would strongly advise you to focus your preparation on the logic and structure of the McKinsey Solve, instead of trying to match the exact number of cases.
  • Moreover, while there are other simulations and guides available for purchase on different platforms, I would strongly advise you to consider reaching out to an experienced coach like me, who is familiar with the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment as well as other pre-interview assessments. Most simulations and guides seem to be outdated, unrealistic, or omit important details. If you would like to know more about how I can help you in the most efficient way, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming McKinsey pre-interview assessment and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

I'm not familiar with the simulation from Case Basix.

However, most simulations are just that, simulations. And the actual game has changed multiple times in the last couple of years. No simulation will give you the exact experience of the actual game, so it might not be very time-effective to try and get that (because it doesn't really exist).

Best,
Cristian
