MBB Remuneration Expectation

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone has any info about the base salary, signing bonus (if any), relocation bonus and performance bonus for an experienced hire (3+ years of exp.) Solution Analyst (expert track, 50% consultant, 50% research/analytics/modeling) position at Mck London? I couldn't find any useful info on the web (including glassdoor and management consulted).

Also, does the remuneration typically increase year on year even when not promoted to solution associate? How long does it typically take to get promoted to an associate (assuming good performance)?

Edit: I believe the average salary found on the web (and stated in the comments below) is for an entry-level business analyst or knowledge-track analyst. My query is specifically about the Solution Analyst position which typically requires 3-4 years of professional experience (i.e. not an entry-level role).

Thanks

Hi there,

To complement the answers below, promotions usually happen on a 1.5-3 year scale depending on firm and performance. On average, you should expect to ‘go to the next level’ about every two years. That's when the remuneration changes significantly as well. One of biggest jumps percentage wise (pre-partner) is between analyst and associate.

Hi there,

I did a quick google and found the answer in my 3rd result - you're going to need to improve your research skills as an analyst ;)

While I'm lightly teasing, please also do get better at this as it's an important skillset! An analyst at McKinsey London should expect to get paid around 45k (GBP) base with about 5k performance bonus and about 3k signing bonus.

Make sure to negotiate as well (identify what is “easiest” for them to move the needle on)

Hello!

Honestly, I have no idea here, but I agree with Ian´s approach: Google has the answer (or a very reasonable proxi) for most of these type of questions -and if not, HR does.

Cheers,
