Your best bet is to ask HR - I would say that you fit the profile of a JA but offices can be picky about it

Hi there!

On paper, yes :)

You have work experience & consulting experience, so you should qualify.

Conditions differ though between offices so I'd recommend you discuss this directly with the recruiter. This way you can make sure.

Best,
Cristian

Hi Devansh,

I agree with Nikita here. Sounds like you're a Senior Business Analyst (or Junior Associate). Depends on exact roles/timings - interview performance can also impact this!

Remember, networking is critical not just for getting intel/info on timelines and what role you should apply for, but also in greatly increasing your chances of getting invited to interview:

Your profile seems to fit more a Senior Business Analyst / BA with some seniority but it also depends on the country you are planning to apply to and the exact experience you had with the Big 4.

You can check on LinkedIn if you can find other candidates who joined with a similar background. Alternatively, you can look for a referral (which is going to help with the application in any case) and clarify with the person referring you.

Best,

Francesco

Hi there,

Some McKinsey offices might qualify you as Junior Associate but definitely you'll be a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst for most of them. Take also into account the expectations that will be on you if you join as Junior Associate and that Big-4 work and operating model is normally very different from McKinsey's.

Best,

Alberto

Hi,

The position you are eligible for at McK will also depend on your current position at the Big4, your seniority level and your actual interview performance

However, judging by the numbers alone I think they'll rather consider you for the BA / SBA positions.

Regards,
Nick

the Senior BA role is probably more appropriate given your experience level

Hi there,

This depends a bit on the office because it doesn't mean the same in all locations.

For example, some McK offices have the role of Location Analyst, which is below Business Analyst. This role pushes all the other roles up a bit in terms of seniority.

Based on what I see, I say go for it. If they like your profile, they will interview you whatever you apply for, and match you with the right job level during the process.

Hope this helps a bit. Best of luck!

Moritz
