Experienced hire opportunities at BCG Riyadh?

Hi everyone,

I wanted to ask whether BCG Riyadh is expected to open experienced hire roles in Q1 or Q2 this year. I’ve noticed there haven’t been any postings for generalist consulting roles since around August last year, so I’m trying to understand whether hiring at that level is currently paused/limited, or whether recruitment typically happens through other channels beyond the website.

If experienced hiring is managed differently (e.g., referrals, direct outreach, networking, recruiter-led processes), I’d really appreciate any guidance on how best to position myself. Thank you.

Hi there
Great question. We have seen a bit of a slowdown across the GCC market but that doesn't mean that firms are not hiring at all. The best way to get these insights is chatting with people who are in the firm right now.

So as you eluded to, networking, outreach, referrals etc. - these are all excellent ways to not only get the insights and the pulse on hiring but also have a better shot of getting your application to the top of the pile for interviews.

I would be happy to support further if helpful as someone who was hiring for MBB in ME as an industry hire.

Good luck!

Reach out to the recruiter.

Send out a polite email, saying you're interested in applying and ask whether they have any openings, and if not, when they are likely to restart recruiting.

And in parallel, focus on applying to other firms as well.

Hi there,

Honestly, most experienced hires actually come in as generalists, and they still do quite well. Specialists/experts only happen if you're coming in at the manager/project lead level and/or you have many many years of industry experience.

Regarding Riyadh specifically, recruitment for experienced hires is often managed differently than campus hiring. You can improve your odds by making sure you have a top-tier resume and have networked... ideally getting a referral. I'd recommend reaching out to people with a similar background to you (i.e. same alma mater, same career switch, etc.) and tailoring a message that shows you've done your research.

If you find you are struggling with how to position your background for these roles, that is exactly what I cover in my Applications Course. It covers exactly how to structure your resume and networking strategy to stand out in these competitive markets.

Networking is the key to obtaining an interview as an experienced hire. Don't leave it to the website alone.

Good luck! Feel free to message me for support.

BCG Riyadh hiring can be less visible online, especially for experienced hires, as many roles are filled through referrals, recruiter outreach, or targeted networking rather than public postings, and hiring pace in the Middle East can fluctuate depending on pipeline and project demand. If you are serious about the office, your best move is to proactively network with consultants there, connect with a recruiter directly, and try to secure a strong referral, as experienced hiring is often opportunistic rather than tied to fixed cycles; if you’d like, share your background and I can help you think through positioning.

Hey!

As far as I know, MBB ME isn't aggressively posting roles right now due to overloaded offices and global freezes. No clear Q1/Q2 2026 wave announced.

If you want to go there, rolling basis via referrals is better website. Recruiters outreach to fits; track careers page but prioritize:

You can also ping recruiters directly.

Good luck!

That's a really sharp observation, and you've hit on a key aspect of how experienced hire recruiting often works, especially for a specific office like BCG Riyadh. It's not uncommon for those roles to be filled long before they ever hit a public job board.

Consulting firms, particularly in specific regions or for experienced profiles, often fill roles quite opportunistically. When a specific project need or capability gap arises, the firm will typically try to fill it through direct outreach, referrals from current staff, or by reactivating candidates they've had their eye on from previous networking. This means that an absence of online postings doesn't necessarily mean hiring is "paused"; it often means the process is happening through other, more targeted channels.

Your best bet is to be highly proactive. Identify the recruiting team for the MENA region on LinkedIn and reach out directly, clearly articulating your specific interest in the Riyadh office and how your experience aligns. More importantly, focus on building genuine connections with consultants currently in the BCG Riyadh office. Understand their work, express your specific interest, and see if they can advocate for you or even give you a heads-up on potential needs. Getting on their radar through networking is often the most effective way to secure an experienced hire role.

Hope that helps clarify things! All the best.
