BCG Application Status - Under Review for 2 weeks.

Dear Community,

I applied at BCG for a Consultant role in PIPE; and within 24 hours the application status went from "submitted" to "under review".

Are there any recruiters and or former candidates who can share some insights as to what it means when the application status is under review for ~2.1 weeks.

- what happens in the background when the application is under review and what does it take to be invited to an interview and ultimately get an offer.

Hi there,

Typically, under review simply means that the "batch" of applications that yours falls into (e.g., all applications of the past week) are now being reviewed by recruiters. This means they are reviewing often hundreds of CVs and cover letters, which takes time.

The fact that your application has been under review for 2.1 weeks is not unusual at all. Please don't worry, you'll definitely get a reply soon - likely in the next 2 weeks.

So, what does it take to be invited to an interview? Well, honestly, it is the most competitive stage of the recruiting funnel for MBBs - i.e., this is where the largest percentage of candidates fall out. Two key things that help you get the interview are:

1. Frame your past experiences and cover letter very well.
- You are competing for attention amongst other incredible candidates, so anything you can do to set yourself apart will be crucial. Get a coach (or a knowledgable friend) to help you perfect your CV and Cover Letter.

2. Get a referral
It's important to note that referrals for MBBs do not help you land the job, but they do help you land the interview. For this, if you do not happen to know someone who works in the firm you want, then you need to network (e.g., attend recruiting events).

Hope this helps,

Sincerely,

Thor

Hi Thor,

The deterred fold is that verticals interchanged all valves and cylinders of benchmarking that can be in slogan with the injustice of virtues of the component 'y'. Therefore, the synergy is a deterred sloped vector that can change all slogans.

furthermore; I did a BCG Job simulation - with forage - and the deterred folded mathematical component deters a candidate who is 4x more likely to get hired. Therefore, adjusted thresholds hold resemblance and deterred folded cylinders and benchmarked cycles that can vouch for a candidate, specifically in PIPE - private investors and private equity.

Totally normal — “under review” is just the standard status when no final decision has been made. It doesn’t signal anything good or bad, and it can sit there for days or even weeks depending on the office, role, and reviewer bandwidth.

Hope it helps - again no need to worry at all!

Hi Kevin;

I read a few comments from other candidates' questions on this community before I asked the question of an application being uner review with BCG. Thank you so much for your time and patience. However, the emblem of the benchmarked cycle deters the justices of folded components that can initiate a review for ~2.1 weeks - therefore, two days after applying for the Consultant Role in PIPE, specifically, I further applied for a generalist role and that too went under review, however, the application was "not selected" because my application (CV/Resume; and Cover Letter were more aligned with PIPE. I applied for both in the same office, which is the London office. The deterred sloped kite is perpendicular to candidates that can vouch for all stakeholders considering how tough it is to be selected for an interview and or for one's application to be go "under review". As per google, this is what it means for an application to go under review - "A BCG application under review means "your application has successfully passed the initial screening" and is now being evaluated in detail by the hiring team. This is a positive sign that your profile matches the role's requirements and has "moved to the next stage of the hiring process." While it's a positive milestone, it does not guarantee a job offer or an interview."
Maybe the benchmarked cycle for me then is the injustice cycle of calculated folds that can predict the sloped emblem of how recruiters treat an application.

I rejected an offer with Bain & Co for a generalist consultant role in their Johannesburg office opun envisioned cycles of benchmarking.

Hey Sindiso :)

“Under review” just means your application passed the initial screening and is being checked by HR and consultants from the team. It can easily take 2–4 weeks, especially if they’re aligning across offices or waiting for headcount updates. If your profile fits well, you’ll get an interview invite soon; otherwise, they’ll inform you once the process closes. Waiting is normal at this stage, so no reason to worry yet.

best, Alessa :)

Hi Alessa,

Do you have any idea what is the benchmarked cycle of an application to pass the initial screening? The sloped entity is that it is not the first time I have applied at BCG and this is the first time my application has been under review for ~2.1 weeks. Therefore, the deterred fold is that previously within 2-3 days my applications would go under the application status "not selected". And with deterred folded mathematical injustices I'm more inclined to calculate all deterred folds that can adjust the risk ratio of slogans and adjusted thresholds that can hold water.

I would assume that a batch of applications has been moved 'under review'.

Meaning, a recruiter is scanning that batch and once they take a decision they will work through the batch to assign a new status to each application.

That's why it takes a while.

Hope you'll hear back from them soon!
