Will I be automatically blacklisted when I reapply for the BIg 3 summer intern after once rejected?

HI there!

So I'm currently a rising junior at a nontarget school in Boston and wishing to apply for the Big 3 2019 summer internships. But the problem is I applied to them this March/April, when I was a sophomore and didn't really expect getting into those companies or even receiving an interview... (so I was just thinking I could give it a shot anyway and didn't really put much effort on them since I knew they might only consider students of penultimate year) I received the rejection letter from McKinsey and BCG while only the confirmation of completed application from Bain.

So I'm wondering will these companies like automatically blacklist my application without even taking a look at it? I'm sure my application looks much better this time... What if I create a new account? Will they blacklist my name?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!

McKinsey / Accenture Alum / Got all BIG3 offers / Harvard Business School

Hi,

The truth is - nobody knows. If you applied for a full-time role, it might be the case that the internship will be a separate process. Also, I heard that a different account / name spelling helped some people.

I would give it a shot

Best!

I also applied for intern earlier this year and McKinsey said it encouraged me to apply 12 months after graduation while BCG said nothing about it, I don't know if this leads to a lower chance... Anyway thanks so much!
