McKinsey PSG

Today i had my psg test where i did very well in the first game (ecosystem) and not so well in the first part of the redrock study but good in the case questions

Is there a chance for me to be accepted knowing that i passed the game last year but didn't pass 1st round of interviews or it is not relevant

Hi there,

Q: Is there a chance for me to be accepted knowing that i passed the game last year but didn't pass 1st round of interviews or it is not relevant

You might still pass the game this year, depending on how well you did in the Ecosystem game and the final part of the Redrock. On the other hand, the performance of last year is irrelevant in terms of the new attempt.

Good luck!

Hi there,

I'm sorry but you are evaluated based on your current test results. Past tests do not have an impact. That said, it does not mean you're out of the running, but your results specifically from last year will not count.

Hi there!

It's no longer relevant that you passed the game last year i.e., they won't take this into account.

At this point, it's a waiting game. Most candidates assume that the test / interview went worse that it actually was. So it's likely this is also the case with you.

Aside from this, you can keep on applying to other firms. This way you can keep yourself busy in a constructive way and also diversify your risk. Sharing with you a guide below on how to do this:

Best,
Cristian

Hi,

At MBB, each round of interviews is evaluated on itself and on the current attempt only.

Your historical performance is not used to evaluate whether you pass the current round - so your historical performance is not relevant here.

All the best!

Hello,

They won't look at your PSG results from last year, your current score will be taken into account. However, the test score is evaluated together with your CV, cover letter, application, and referral status when deciding whether to invite you for an interview or not. So even if you didn't do so well in part of the test, you can still be invited to interview if the rest of your application is strong.

Hi there,

not relevant - given the firm asked you to re-take the test, they will look at it in isolation, rather than combine the assessment with how you did on the previous one.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Andi
