Hi Aliya,
By occassion I was in Angola for 2 weeks in February this year although not visiting the McKinsey office.
In general you should be aware of current situation in Luanda, probably also depending whether you are a local or not (I was not) - since autumn last year in any case security was getting much better and since then I did not hear about shootings on the street during day. But watch your step and be careful anytime; corruption does not stop in front of private guards also (take that into consideration).
Apart from that, Angola is currently on a comparably good track, so McKinsey does quite some public sector work as far as I know, and also many foreign companies are in good development and generally mean good business for McKinsey.
Hope this helps - if so, please give it a thumbs-up with the green upvote button below!

Probably not super insightful but I have worked with two of the Partners (both great individuals that I would recommend working with) who started the Angola office a few years ago. The office initially started off as a 'satelitte' office covered by the Lisbon office with Lisbon office consultants serving local clients where there was a big focus on public sector with a few of the government ministries. Fast forward a few years, I have heard that there is increasing local client work in the financial services, telecom, oil & gas sectors, etc. but not a huge amount of diversity compared with other locations. One of my friends, after 2 years, transferred out of Luanda office for exactly that reason.
Good luck with your interviews!
Not sure if at this point an answer is still helpful. Feel free to reach out if you still have questions. I know the country and have good connections to the consulting firms operating there.
