I messed up math in BCG Casey - do I have a chance?

Hi guys, I just finished my Casey Bot test and I did pretty bad on it. I messed up 5 subquestions of the case (out of 8 questions) due to a misunderstanding of the information. I didn't know that I did wrong until it was too late as the question guide. For other part of the case, I think I did average as I would do on a live case.

Is there any chance for me to move to the live case round? And please feel free to suggest some ways i can improve for the Casey.

Thank you.

Hi there,

1) Is there any chance for me to move to the live case round?

Difficult to say for sure, but if you answered incorrectly 5 questions out of 8 I would say the chances are slim.

2) Please feel free to suggest some ways I can improve for the Casey.

The best thing would be to prepare in advance with test simulations. You can find some prep material below with 6 Casey Chatbots (full disclosure – I am the author):

Hi!

Sorry to hear it didn't go as expected.

If you got 5 wrong that's not great tbh. In some geographies, they judge the results of the test together with CV and CL, so if the latter are really strong you might still stand a chance.

In the meantime, if you haven't already done so, apply to other firms. This way you can diversify your risk a bit better. Here's how to build an application strategy that maximises the probability of you getting at least one offer.

Good luck!
Cristian

Hi there,

To be very honest, 5 wrong is very bad and hard to overcome - that said, oftentimes the chatbot asks additional questions if you get one wrong, that tease out if you're wrong because of a simple misunderstanding.

If the test identified that you got 5 wrong because of ONE misunderstanding, you could still be ok.

Ultimately, yes you have a chance, albeit a lower one than when you started. If you're an excellent candidate (strong background, great resume, high level referral, direct recruiting channel, etc.) then your odds are higher.

To improve, I highly recommend you use MConsultingPrep's simulation! (You can feel free to message me for a discount code)

Hi,

I understand that you're concerned about your performance on the Casey Bot test.

To be honest 5 wrong answers is low. Nevertheless if they understand that it's because of one missunderstanding it could give you a chance.

Cheers,

Alexandre
