Hi all,

I wanted to see if the community knows if there are ways to tell how you did on the McKinsey game after taking it?

I am likely overthinking this, but I had passed every level (got a message saying so), and finished very quickly (about 25 mins).

This has made me a bit concerned, I know it is still being rolled out, so changes happen. But, from what I had read online it takes most people 40-50 minutes, and typically they will throw new data at you frequently.

Hi there,

Would be great if you could clarify which game you are referring to (there are 3 common games used in the Imbellus and 5 that ever appeared from the start).

The game tests both what you do when playing and your final result, but normally if you get a “good” final result that’s a good indication of your performance. However the desired result depends on the game, which is why would be good if you could share the one you are referring to.

Please feel free to PM me if you prefer so.

Best,

Francesco

Hi, I did the Ecosystem game, and the Tower defense one. The tower defense one went about how I expected. The ecosystem one all I did was build it, hit the test button (or whatever it is called), and got a message that said my ecosystem was balanced and worked.

I see. Just replied to your PM on the additional questions. Best

Hi there,

It sounds promising! That said, it's certainly hard to say - the office situation, your overall application/candidacy, the other applicants, time period of applying, role, etc. all play a roll.

Again, it sounds promising, but really all we can do from here is cross our fingers and prepare for the interviews.

Fingers crossed for you!

Was there an actual message stating the ecosystem is well balanced?

Can you share more details, which office you are applying to? Post MBA or pre MBA?

Hi there,

This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I am happy to provide my perspective on it:

  • The McKinsey Imbellus results are not meant to be shared with the candidates besides a “pass” (i.e. you get invited for the interviews)/ “reject” information. Nonetheless, I know of an instance where a candidate was informed more in detail about the results which must have been a mistake.
  • I would advise you not to worry too much about it anymore. The decision is not in your hands anymore, as hard as it may be. Be confident and trust in yourself.

In case you want a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for the upcoming McKinsey interviews after passing the McKinsey Imbellus, please feel free to contact me directly.

I hope this helps,

Hagen

Hi!

Unfortunately, I believe there's no way to know the score you got.

You'll only know if what you did is enough or not to get through the CV screening and start interviewing.

Best,

Anto
