How to optimally read Case in Point

Hi, I was wondering if there's a good way of reading Case in Point. What are the best/most valuable parts? Let me elaborate. I've read Case Interview Secrets by Victor Cheng and I've heard lots of people saying that Case in Point has too many frameworks. But that being said, what are some things I can find in Case in Point that will help me greatly with my case interview prep process? Would it be getting an understanding of the different types of cases? Or would it be getting prompts that will allow me to practice case interviews?

Note: I'm a novice with about 4 practice cases of experience, and I'd like to improve my ability on each big case "type" by solving a few variations of each. I'm also on a time crunch of 2-3 weeks.

Hi,

Case in point is an ok way to start with case preparation. You will gain familiarity with the whole process and read about some of the standard frameworks. I would recommend to skim it in 1-2 hours. No more no less. Especially if you have already read Victor Cheng.

Both books rely too much on explorative techniques such as Victor Cheng's business situation framework that will likely not get you far in MBB interviews. If you only have 3 weeks I would recommend on using craftingcases.com as a main resource and practicing cases as much as you can with experienced candidates or a coach.

Best,

John
