FIT Prep Matrix and Rehearsal

Hello

Interviewing for MBB, want to ask if anyone has the FIT matrix and rehearsal guide that I could use?

To confirm there are three dimension for McKinsey, and I need to have two good stories for each dimension. Any other advise would be great.

Thanks

Hi there,

1) Interviewing for MBB, want to ask if anyone has the FIT matrix and rehearsal guide that I could use?

Most coaches should have material on that. For my mentees, I provide two fit guides (for stories and non-stories fit questions) and an excel matrix to build the stories automatically. Please feel free to PM me for more information.

2) To confirm there are three dimension for McKinsey, and I need to have two good stories for each dimension. Any other advise would be great.

There are actually 4 dimensions now at McKinsey for the PEI, since they added Courageous Change in some offices instead of Entrepreneurial Drive. Yes, ideally you should have 2 stories per dimension.

You can find more info below:

4 PEI Dimensions You Should Know

Good luck!

Hey,

Yes, it's better if you have a spare story on each of the four topics (so 8 stories in total).

Also, be prepared to tell each story in greater detail if asked to elaborate on a certain point, e.g. what were the names of the participants, the exact words you or they used getting getting a point across, the actual motivation you had taking a certain course of action etc.

Ideally, if you prepare three types of FIT stories:
1. Mini FIT: a short overview or a sales pitch of your achievements (20-30 seconds per story);
2. Standard PEI - around 2 minutes per story;
3. Expanded FIT - a 4-5 mines per story for a deep dive into your experiences with the exact names, reasoning, thoughts, as described above.

Good luck!

Hi!

Reach out to the recruiter for sample prep materials on this. They usually can give access to some prep videos.

Additionally, consider working with a coach. I have proprietary materials that I use with my candidates, including recordings of stories that have passed MBB interviews. Happy to share.

Good luck!
Cristian

Hi there,

Yes I do!

I have an excel sheet that sets up the 3 Whys and your fit stories. I also have example answers and a matrix to help you make sure everything is covered.

This all comes as well with a video course that talks you through story creation and gives real life examples for Why Consulting, Why the Firm, Resume Walkthrough, and 5+ fit stories

Actually 4 dimensions and yes you should have a main story and a backup story for each of those dimensions.

Hi there,

Your recruiting contact should provide some guidance on how to prepare this and what to expect.

I also suggest you work with a coach to prepare your fit interview. Happy to keep talking about this in private, just send me a message.

Best,

Alberto
