Hi all,
Since much of the advice on interviews is focused on the 1st/2nd round format, I was wondering if there is any specific advice/best practices for a Super-Day format (as is the case for MBB in my geography).
Thank you!

Hi there,
Q: I was wondering if there is any specific advice/best practices for a Super-Day format
The main difference as mentioned by Emily is that you will need a lot of stamina. I had superdays with a few companies, by the time I got to the last interview I was quite exhausted.
A few tips:
Additionally, I would stop doing new cases 24h before the interview and just review previous material to avoid stress.
Good luck!
Francesco
Have a really good night's sleep beforehand!
Seriously though, the advice is the same, you just have to have incredible stamina to get through the first and second rounds in one day. The cases and the format is otherwise the same.
Good luck!
Hi there,
There's no difference other than the fast that it's longer and more intense!
You need more stamina…so, figure out what you need to keep pushing effectively.
Have a “practice” super-day a week or two ahead of time. This means you have back-to-back cases with peers (and even consultants/coaches).
Figure out what level of snacks, caffeine, etc. help you perform best.
Good luck!
Hi there,
There is no difference in how the interviews are conducted.
Pre-pandemic McKinsey DACH did 5 interviews + PST (while it was still a thing) on the same day with 3 interviews + the PST in the morning, feedback and 2 interviews after lunch (if you passed the morning round). If successful, you left with the offer at the end of the day.
I think it's a much better system than dragging interviews out over weeks.
The best advice is to get some good rest the night before. However, in any case, you will be fully awake during the interviews. On top of that, try to relax and socialize with other consultants or interviewees during the day (if it's in the office), that helps take away some of the stress.
I did not sleep particularly well the night before and was wide awake throughout the whole day due to a mix of coffee and adrenaline.
All the best!
Cheers,
Florian
I totally agree with both Florian and Francesco.
The key difference is that you will need to show some stamina during the super-day.
Besides, it is quite normal that your performance in one of the cases will not be a "hire-plus", so, don't get nervous because of that. Your evaluation will be holistic, taking into account your CV, your PEI, your cases, and your "presence" (i.e., ability to convince them that you are ready to go in front of a client).
