Hello,

I was referred by an ex-colleague who is working for EYP as a consultant now. Finished an HR call and she told me there will be 3 more rounds down the road. The final round will contains the case study where I will have some time to work and present the findings to a partner.

The final case interview sounds different from other candidates' experiences on the internet. Does that mean that the next 2 rounds would be a CV-Lead, fit interviews? Would the case interview be a different one  comparing to the standard MBB case interview?

Would love to gain some insights since I'm really eager to win my spot at EYP.

Location: LA

Title: Consultant

Thank you!

Hi there,

1) Does that mean that the next 2 rounds would be a CV-Lead, fit interviews?

Not necessarily. They could include both fit and case. If in doubt, you can clarify with HR. The last candidate I helped for EYP Parthenon US had one interview fit only, one case only and the written case.

2) Would the case interview be a different one comparing to the standard MBB case interview?

Not necessarily. I helped a few candidates for EYP in the US and they had both estimation/market sizing and standard cases. If you need help please feel free to PM me, I know several real questions they asked specifically at EYP US.

Best,

Francesco

Does that mean that the next 2 rounds would be a CV-Lead, fit interviews?

Most likely yes.

Would the case interview be a different one  comparing to the standard MBB case interview?

It will be a bit more technical and may expect you to draw on your previous experience and knowledge of how a company works and how to improve operations or streamline an organization. Meaning you have to do a bit of research on this topic and think about specific solutions.

Having said this, it won't hurt to practice what are usually called “profit cases”, meaning the topics that are likely to be more related to your future role. Being the most important cost/operational improvement, followed by pricing and commercial/sales improvement.

Hello,

I would like to echo Ian's advice about being careful with making assumptions. If there is good reason to think that something is more likely to come up, it makes sense to place more weight on it in your preparation, but you should not ignore other aspects/scenarios/interview types that may come up because there is no guarantee! So be prepared for anything and go in ready to be flexible on the day.

To answer your questions:

Does that mean that the next 2 rounds would be a CV-Lead, fit interviews?

Possibly, but not necessarily. It might be worth sending a quick email to HR to see if they can shed light on things.

Would the case interview be a different one comparing to the standard MBB case interview?

I don't think anyone will know this either way for sure, unfortunately. I would recommend preparing for different types of cases, and not assuming one way or the other.

Hi there,

Please be really careful when making assumptions or expecting/anticipating things! Candidates that do this tend to get stuck when things don't go as expected.

Does that mean that the next 2 rounds would be a CV-Lead, fit interviews?

This sounds more likely, but please be prepared for a case. You can double-check with HR, but please please be case ready for these!

Would the case interview be a different one  comparing to the standard MBB case interview?

Maybe, maybe not. Sorry to be so vague, but again, just train yourself in a wide range of diverse cases! Be ready for a “classic” case or for pure brainstorming.

Hi there,

It's always best in these sort of situations to reach out directly to the recruiter / HR for more information on the format of the interviews. They are not meant to keep it as a secret and this way you are sure you have relevant information for the office / role you are applying for.

Best,

Cristian
