Bcg final round partner concluded case in 17 mins

Final round IV with MDP was 30 mins fit that we clicked together in and he liked my answers and motivation, then a market sizing where he challenged me on assumptions then told me let’s conclude as we have 10 mins remaining and rest would be math (case was 17 mins) the. I asked him couple of questions and we concluded the case, is this positive or negative sign? It has been 4 days from IV time.

P:S the other final round case was everything was great but oral communication could be better with clients

Absolutely agree with Florian. Too little context to really know what is going on. Best of luck!

Hi there,

Sounds very positive!

To be fair, from the outside without being involved in the situation it's almost impossible to give an accurate assessment. For instance,

  • There are many things interviewers look for which you might not have on your radar
  • Candidates sometimes have a tendency to see their performance too negatively or too positively

In any case, 4 days is not a lot after a final round in the current environment. I would expect to hear back next week.

Fingers crossed!

Cheers,

Florian

I would take a 30-minute fit conversation as a good sign! It's possible that the Partner 1) was aware of your case performance in the previous round and placed less emphasis on the case, 2) typically interviews this way, or 3) lost track of time on fit and still wanted to give you time for questions.

Best of luck, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that offer!

We don’t know. My final McKinsey interview, when I got the offer, lasted less than 30 minutes.

Best,

Alberto

I start my MBA in september. I have no consulting background - mostly retail and ecommerce product management. How do I use my time now?
