Bain 1st round

Hello,

I'm preparing for a 1st round interview with Bain that is to take place over Skype.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with a "real" skype interview and if so, what are the most important things I need to be aware of or prepare for.

Also, If there is anything different in a 1st rd. Bain interview compared the other top firms, information regarding that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the assistance,

Vadik Drozdovski

The most important issue with Skype interviews is that it is much harder to connect with your interviewer.

To make sure you can do this whilst creating a good impression and cracking the case, you must:

  • increase your level energy during communication
  • write neatly so that you can turn your paper towards the computer if you are asked to draw a graph or you want to show your structure or market sizing methodology
  • avoid any distractions, including bad WiFi connections.
  • Practice many Skype and face-to-face interviews so that you can appreciate the different between them and further adjust your performance.
