Application Turnaround (L.E.K. Associate)

Question

Hey guys,

I submitted an online application (w/ a referral) for L.E.K. Associate - 2022 on Oct 4, and the closing date of this position is Oct 23. I haven't heard back from L.E.K. as of today. Should I reach out to ask or should I wait after the closing date?

Hi there,

Given you are so close to the closing date, I would just wait that and follow up one week after it, with the excuse to “verify they received everything”.

I did exactly that for one of my applications, 4 weeks after being referred, as I had not heard back, they look at the CV while we were talking and scheduled an interview on the spot. No guarantees this will work in your case, but there are no disadvantages if you contact them.

I presume you mean the application cut-off date?

You definitely need to wait until past the application cut-off date. They are likely waiting for all applications to come in before reviewing.

Most likely they will collect all applications by the closing date (and possibly even till later)

Then they shall process them (which could take a completely unknown amount of time)

Then once they screen your application and are ready to communicate with you - they shall do so.

However, once Oct 23 happens - you could probably reach out to HR and ask for an ETA (if you are curious). Otherwise I would recommend giving it a few weeks.

Yes, please give it a full week after the closing date. Applications are processed in batches, not one by one. Since it is a “small window”, your “batch” will only be processed next week.
