Do you always work in the same team or do you also rotate within the team sometimes?

Hi :) No, in almost all cases, you work with a new team for every project. However, it is possible that you may be staffed on a project with someone you have worked with before by coincidence. Usually, projects last 3 to 6 months, which means you will work in a new setup with a similar timeline. For longer-term projects, there are also instances where the project team may change during the project in alignment with the client. Hope this helps!

Hallo!

Hello :) Very important question! The application process has a few stages, let me give you a few tips per stage that hopefully help you: Handing in your application: Ensure your CV is easy to read and covers the most important things Consultancies / we at DHL Consulting are looking for (international experience, previous work / internship experience in e.g. a strategy department, another consultancy) We are present on many events and fairs - perhaps you have already met one of our consultants and can refer back to a conversation and what specifically triggered your interest in us :) Online assessment: We want to test your cognitive abilities: Preparing similarly to a GMAT test has helped me a lot to get through the online assessment. Assessment center: Practice makes perfect Be prepared for case interviews. The way you structure yourself and demonstrate your problem solving skills is essential for us to assess if we could be a great fit. Show yourself. We really want to get to know you. What motivates you? What drives you? What specifically are you looking for? Come prepared with a few questions that you can ask during the interview - ideally about something that you could not yet find out about e.g. via desktop research. The material we send you in advance lets you prepare well, so you have nothing to worry or be nervous about. Make sure you fully understand the material, and join the practice sessions as well as company presentations & Q&A sessions we offer for every applicant.

Hello! :) At DHL Consulting, travel is (unsurprisingly) depending on the project - but also on your personal preference. By stating how much / little you would prefer to travel, you are able to shape your project staffing and increase / decrease the likelihood by which you will be staffed on a travel / non-travel project. Travel destinations depend on your office location (Bonn, Singapore & Plantation) - for sustainability and convenience reasons, we keep the travel within the region (e.g. Europe).  We still value having face-time with our customers and ensure we meet them regularly and as needed also in person. As the main client for us is the DHL Group, this means you are usually located very lose to them (e.g. for the Bonn Office, walking distance to you clients offices is usually less than 10 minutes). In my opinion, this is one of the big advantages that we have at DHL Consulting. We are able to spontaneously meet our clients and also see them e.g. during lunch breaks, making it even easier to create long-lasting relationships to them that outlast our project time with them.

Hallo!

Hello :) I'd describe my experience so far as a journey of self-development and building a strong sense of community. I was able to learn a lot from the female role models in leadership positions within DHL Consulting and the DHL group. I especially improved a lot in communication & stakeholder engagement skills with the support of my role models, which allowed me to be more assertive while still maintaining a style that feels natural to me. What I really appreciate is also the alumni events we have that feature female talent initiatives, which in the end foster a sense of belonging and inclusiveness a lot.

Hallo!

1) Being able to create a new / fully redesigned concept that will bring significant improvement to our customers (mostly the DHL Group for me) - and being able to personally drive and influence this. 2) Honest and helpful exchanges with my team, my peers and my project partners - be that on amazing successes or also when not everything is going as smooth as I had liked.  3) Flexibility and Ownership - in shaping which next project I take on, in deciding how I can work best every day, etc.

For me, everyday is a little different and very much depending on my current project. Key aspects of a typical day are team check-ins, client (working) sessions, dedicated focus time, Partner-Jour-Fixes and challenges. I try to be in the office multiple days a week to be able to interact with my DHL Consulting colleagues as well as our customers at DHL (who are only one building next to us) frequently and in person. Not all of my working time is spend on my assigned project though - I am also driving different internal topics such as upskilling our New Joiners, doing business development, or exchanging with my peers on their projects with a cup of coffee :)

Hi there, Thank you so much for your question! So I think there are two things in your question: 1) Mentorship program to help new consultants accerlerate career development; 2) Onboarding sessions to help new consultant familiarize with all the technical skills and way of working in a consulting firm. For both, DHLC offers great solutions and support to all new joiners: 1) You will have a personal developer from Day 1, who is part of the company leadership team, helping you throughout your development journey at DHL Consulting (even for Interns!) 2) We have a comprehensive onboarding program for the first week, incl. explaining our way of working, introduction to different support team, technical set-up, etc.; In addition, we also offer regular basic consulting skills trainings for all new full time new joiners. I am one of the lead facilitators of this training and I can only recommend it ;) Afterwards, your hard & soft skills will be sharpened to help you become a successful consultant at DHLC!   Hope this helps!   Best, Nancy

Hi Anna,   Thank you so much for your question, however, I am a bit confused by this question. Technically, I don't think there's any major differences on what a man / a woman might bringing in a consulting project.    Maybe let me rephrase your question, I think with different personalities, you might provide different insights in a consulting project. Like many other firms, DHLC also leverages some personality tests to help us cultivate and develop leadership in the company.  Take an example, personally, I am a very relationship-oriented person, therefore, I am always trying to understand what's the “agenda” my client might have when they approach to consulting to make sure I am offering the recommendations that are actually implementable for them. Some of my colleagues are more fact-driven, therefore, they prefer to dig deeper into data and facts and want to make sure that we provide more factual data to challenge the status-quo.  Of course, I think in the end, we as consultants are hired by the client to solve challenging tasks in a structured way. The approach we take can be highly dependant on our own personality, cultural background, etc.   Hope this helps!   Best, Nancy

Hi Rebecca, Thank you so much for your question. As a matter of fact, I didn't study business in my bachelor, I was a trained Human geographer and urban planner. So I fully understand where your concern is from. Based on my past experience, I think most companies are quite open to candidates with different background, but it's also important for us to show certain business acumen and communication skills in the recruiting process. I would recommend you start with an internship that's more “business-relevant” and participate in different networking events as an ice-breaker.   At DHLC, we actually have colleagues from different major and background, e.g. Medicine, Liberal Arts, Philosophy, etc. This is also an important part of our culture and key elements to bring in more creativity in our work :)    Hope this helps!   Best, Nancy

Hi there, Thank you so much for your question. Since I have to translate it to English to understand it, so let me rephrase your question here: you are asking how often do we interact with our clients, i.e. the business/line functions in the group? In general, I don't think this is a clear guideline on how much interaction you must have with your clients. Our clients and their team are also our colleagues, eventually, we are working together to make sure that DHL Group delivers the best result. Therefore, based on the requirements of the project and the level of details I need to dig into for my projects, I might have touchpoint every day with my client or once per week with my client - It really depends on their availability and your project needs. Normally we are very close to the business/line functions in the group as they also don't purely treat as “the consultants”. We will have follow-ups regularly with them after our projects to understand the status of our project deliverables.   Hope this helps!   Best, Nancy
