Dear all,
Hope you are doing well. Who here has specific experience with the below points and would be open to talk? Looking for someone who has either gone through this themselves or has helped candidates in the same geos and for the same firms:
1. Moving McKinsey (Junior) Fellow final round interviews from Germany & Austria system to the Swiss one.
2. Practice and negotiation of signing bonuses for BCG Switzerland.
Looking forward to hopefully speaking with y'all!
Who has experience with these very specific questions? | Moving McK DACH Process To Other Geo & BCG CH Signing Bonus
Hi there,
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:
- First of all, while it is technically possible to move the application process from Germany to Switzerland, it is likely that the Swiss McKinsey recruiter will re-evaluate your application. I would advise you to approach them with a strong reason for Switzerland and see the outcome.
- Moreover, unfortunately, there seems to be no signing bonus for almost all positions in Central Europe.
You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,
Hagen
Hi there,
1. It is possible, but very hard. I have been in these conversations, and you need a lot of internal alignment to get this done. I would say that is very hard.
2. Nothing to negotiate here. Sorry for this.
Open to chat if you need more info about point 1.
Best,
Carlos
Hi there,
1. It's possible but depends on a few factors. Leveraging your BCG x-offer would be one way, but other factors may still play a role (like relevant ties to Switzerland)
2. AFAIK, for entry-level roles there is nothing to negotiate here, unfortunately.
All the best,
Florian
Hey there,
(1) It may be possible (in Theory) to move final round between regions, but I'd presume it would be incredibly difficult. The recruiting and HR teams would want exceptional circumstances to accommodate that
(2) I've seen and witnessed candidates negotiating sign-on bonuses. It's not common, and also depends on exceptional circumstances
All the best
I don't have specific practice on negotiations with that office, but usually the same logic applies everywhere.
Just notice that you have other things you can negotiate besides signing bonus (that can be easier to negotiation, e.g. relocation package).
