What happens after one has written McKinsey's Solve

Dear Community;

I applied at McKinsey for an Associate position in Operations.  A recruiter invited me to solve after 24hrs of submitting the application. What usually happens when a candidate is successful after writing Solve? The application status in the McKinsey dashboard says my application is still in progress.

Regards

Sindiso

Hi Sindiso,

If you pass Solve, the usual next step is that the recruiter reaches out to schedule your first round of interviews, which includes PEI and a case. Sometimes the dashboard doesn’t update right away, so don’t worry too much about that. If you don’t hear back in a week or so, it’s totally fine to send a polite check-in email to the recruiter.

Hi Benjamin;

Thanks for the feedback.
I went to the University of Liverpool and do not know if McKinsey recruits from Uni of Liverpool. If they do not recruit from Liverpool, does that count negatively towards me?

Typically, in max 2 weeks they get back to you with an answer.

In this time they review your CV, CL and referral (if applicable), together with your Solve score, and decide whether to take your application further.

So there's not much you can do on this application at the moment. Use the waiting time to focus on developing other applications.

Hope you hear from them soon!
