Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, I would strongly advise you to reach out to current or former consultants, as well as the recruiter, to find out for certain. Unfortunately, as Transcent seems to be a boutique consulting firm, it is unlikely that any coach will have any useful insights apart from hearsay and generic information.
  • Moreover, career progression obviously depends on your individual performance, even if there may be general tenures per role.

You can find more on this topic here: Boutique consulting companies.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare your application files, for your upcoming pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best

Hi there,

I haven't had direct contact, but I would suggest reaching out to some of the current employees who hold your target role and having a conversation with them. Nothing is going to give you a more honest sense of what to expect.

Here's how you can source these sorts of contacts via LinkedIn:

Hey there :)

Trascent is quite niche, mainly focused on corporate real estate and workplace strategy consulting. Because of that specialization, the culture tends to be more tight-knit and expert-driven compared to broader firms. The pace can still be demanding, especially on global projects, but it’s not as intense as MBB.

Career progression is a bit flatter and more expertise-based rather than the up-or-out model. If you're passionate about CRE or want depth in that space, it can be a solid platform. But for broader consulting exposure or exits, it might be more limited.

Best,
Alessa :)

Hey - since it’s a boutique firm, it’d definitely pay to get some insights from a current or former consultant there.

Apparently people enjoy a lot of flexibility regarding working from home and specific work hours. That's all I know.
