Hi all,
I applied to Bain for a full-time AC role in June and still haven't heard back either a yes/no for interviews. I know many people have either been given invites or gotten rejected, so I was wondering what it meant that I've heard back about neither - has anyone else had the same experience? Really confused at this point!
Still No Decision from Bain

Hi,
It's really hard to tell what is actually happening. A few things could be happening:
- Your results have been finalized . decision is made
- You are a borderline case and they are holding off extending an offer/reject until priority offers have been finalized
- They have already made the decision but somehow it has ‘slipped through the cracks’
- Your results have not yet been finalized / a decision on your result has not been made
- Again, your result has ‘slipped through the cracks’ and this could be for multiple reasons (e.g. interviewer has not yet filled the evaluation, HR has forgot to follow up etc)
You will really not get an answer here - best way is to:
- Keep following up politely with HR
- Leverage your network if you have any, and ask them to help follow up as well

Hello,
It's not the best sign that you haven't heard back in so long, but it's not an official rejection yet either. I would recommend reaching out to HR to politely enquire about the status of your application - there are many possible reasons for why this could have happened, but asking them directly is the only way to find out.

Hi there!
This is indeed a rather long timeline.
Usually anything over 3-4 weeks is a bit suspicious.
I'd recommend you reach out to the recruiter at this point with a polite email asking for an update on your application. Tell them that you have other ongoing applications and want to know the timeline of their response.
In the meantime, to keep yourself busy in a constructive way, make sure that you keep on applying. Here's a guide on how to do this in the best way:
Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

If others have heard back already it doesn’t look very promising but at the same time it doesn’t necessarily mean it is a rejection.
A possible option is that your application got lost somewhere. Another one is that they are replying in batches and your batch has not been screened yet.
As mentioned by Benjamin, I would recommend calling HR and asking for an update.
Good luck!

This is one of those cases where opinions don't really matter - it's been a couple of months now without contact, so something is not working as it should, and that means you need to reach out to HR asap to get some clarity on what is going on - and possibly alerting them that your file fell between the cracks…

Hi there,
If you have not heard back then you should always assume you are not interviewing.
I am not saying that is 100% the case, but 2 months for a university (I'm assuming) channel normally means no invite.
As always, make sure you're not relying on just one firm! You should be applying to 30+ firms/roles during your recruiting!

Hi there
Just to clarify - was this for On-Campus recruiting or no? If prior is the case, it might be problematic (the firms have to follow a stricter decision schedule), if not OCR, it could as well be a process-related delay, rather than something about your candidacy.
Either way, it's been quite a while - suggest you follow up with HR. In some cases, they may simply have forgotten to communicate or there has been top-down steer to put the screening on slow burn.
Wish you all the best!
Regards, Andi
