Typically, one year.

But it's not set in stone.

It's around one year because this is the minimum amount they believe you would need to improve your profile to make it worth interviewing you again.

So if you feel you've made good progress after 6-9 months, do reach out to the recruiter again and ask what is the earliest that you could apply again.

In the meantime, focus on the other firms you have not applied to.

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • Regardless of what stage of the application process you are at, you will usually have to wait 12 to 18 months after a rejection before you can reapply. This is to give you the opportunity to improve your profile and performance.

You can find more on this topic here: How to deal with a rejection from a consulting company.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Hi there,

Usually 12 to 18 months, however, I have noticed less stringent ban periods over the last year so this might be changing in your favor.

If you fail, make sure to

  • significantly improve your resume with new experiences (e.g., work or education)
  • score referrals to boost your application chances.

All the best,

Florian

Hi there,

it usually is between 12 to 18 months until you can reapply. If you are set to give it another go, I would try to reach out to the recruiting time after maybe 10 months to inquire as to when you are cleared to reapply.

That said, your CV needs to have evolved during that time so you should have consulting relevant experience to show for when you go for your second attempt.
