PwC Middle East recruitment process

Hello everyone,

I'm putting my question here to check if anyone else was in a similar context.

3 months ago I sent my application to PwC middle east, and received positive feedback. I passed the online assessment, and the HR interview. The HR then contacted me for a first technical interview that took place early march 2025. It went well, and the people I interviewed with said that the HR will contact me within a week to inform on the next steps. The HR contacted me and asked me to retake the online assessment to increase my score in the verabl reasoning. So I did it again.

The last email I received from the HR is a month ago that they are still discussing internally and will get back to me once they have a decision on my application.
My question is: has anyone been in a similar situation? if yes, was it a good thing or not? Also, I see that the process time of the application is taking to much time, should I pass to other job applications and do not get my hopes up for this one?

Thank you.

Hey there 👋🏼

Yes, it’s actually quite common for PwC Middle East and similar firms to have long and unpredictable timelines, especially when it comes to internal approvals or headcount alignment. The fact that they’re still in touch and asked you to retake the test is a good sign — it means you're still in the running ✅.

That said, I’d definitely recommend applying to other roles in parallel — not because this one is lost, but to keep your momentum and options open. Hope is good, but having a plan B is even better! 😉

Happy to support you through your next steps or interviews 💼✨

Best, Alessa

Hi,

I have seen candidates in a very similar position; while it's exceptional. You can take 2 actions.

1) Follow-up with PWC on the next steps

2) Diversify by applying for 2-3 other consulting firms. (e.g., Deloitte, KPMG ...) This will help you to increase your chances of getting an offer, help you to leverage your offer to the other firm during the application process and increase your interview skills.

Feel free to reach out via chat.

Yes, this situation is not uncommon, especially in the Middle East, where consulting recruitment processes can stretch out due to internal approvals and staffing needs.

  • A long delay does not necessarily mean rejection; if they asked you to retake an assessment and said they're still deciding, it means you're still under consideration.
  • That said, it’s wise to actively pursue other applications, keep momentum going and don’t wait on a single option.

Follow up once more if you don’t hear back in 1–2 weeks. Good luck and keep your options open!

PS: I'm based in the Middle East. If you have more questions about the Middle Eastern market and opportunities there, I'm happy to have a session with you.
