It depends on where. MBBs for instance would take you as analyst (so entry level), but it could be different in Big4 or niche consulting companies, particularly if aligned with your past experience.

Frankly, I would say do both.

Whether the HR team of the firm you are targeting classes you as one or the other is not really your concern.

Your main priority is to get in the door, and hence I would try both channels.

this really depends on the specific IT consulting experience. If with Accenture and alike, you may get some tenure credit, if smaller firms, may tilt towards entry level positions.

It would depend also how many years of experience you have before your IT consulting stint. 

If you were just out of undergrad and joined IT consulting, you would perhaps me most suited for experienced roles. If, however, you had an industry job for a few years with something associated to IT or tech, then you can apply for more senior (even post-graduate) experienced positions.

Hi there,

Technically experienced hire just means you're not going through the traditional school channels…so, you're an “experienced” hire.

However, you're going to have to apply to an entry-level role. 

All this said, the best way to know for sure is, for each company, network with them directly to find out what they specifically recommend for you in your situation. Each company will be slightly different!
