Mckinsey Re-aaplication

Good day all,

Last year I applied to Mckinsey senior knowledge analyst position, and reached the final round after 4 interviews but I didn't get the offer.

So, is it possible to reapply after the 1-year ban? Do I still have a chance as they are posting the same position?

Hi there,

The whole point of the ban is that you can re-apply after a given amount of time, which you have now passed.

Importantly, McKinsey expects you to have made significant progress in the areas that let you down during the 1st application. Hence, reflect on the feedback (I hope you got some) and consider how you closed any gaps. This will be important to highlight in your application and in the (hopefully upcoming) interviews.

Let me know if you'd like to get some support from someone who knows the McKinsey process inside out, happy to help! Best of luck!

Hey there,

Sorry to hear!

Yes, it is possible.

You need to demonstrate significant progress on your resume to warrant a new interview invitation, in 1 or 2 of the following areas:

  1. New work experience, more responsibilities, new tasks, etc
  2. Enrolled into a new program, new degree, etc.
  3. Spent time abroad (professionally)
  4. Extracurricular engagements

Cheers,

Florian

Hello!

Sorry to hear that! But indeed yes, you can reapply after the ban. The reason for the ban is that you need to add "relevant" experience to your CV, and you need at least 12-18 months for that.

A referral would for sure help, but after the required months.

Don´t give up!

Cheers,

Clara

Hello,

Yes you can reapply, but work on gaining relevant experience and problem solving skills. Also keep networking with Mckinsey folks. You should be able to demonstrate that you have enhanced your skills on areas that were considered weak points
