I would not “assume” rejection just yet. But I would also not assume acceptance.
What I mean is, your application is always going to have low odds. As such, please make sure to not put your thinking/effort into just 1 firm (ever!). I know it's easier said than done, but make sure you've applied to 30+ other firms + roles so that you have multiple options…this helps prevent the anxiety of one interview.

That's rather late.
Get in touch with HR for an update on your application.
Don't read too much into it. It's best to just find out what HR has to say.
Also, make sure that you keep on applying to other opportunities. The most important thing is to have a great application strategy.
