Is MBB hiring experienced right now (US, NY)?

Yes, they do. Hiring is in full swing for professional hires. I have a feeling that this is the case even more so than for graduate hires and interns at the moment (where I saw a slight dip this year).

The top tier consulting firms hire throughout the year for those coming outside the designated tracks for Undergrad and MBA recruiting. This is especially true for McKinsey and BCG (to which I can speak from personal experience)…I'm less familiar with Bain.

More important than the length of experience you have is the quality of it and how you can bring that to life with a strong resume and compelling cover letter. It won't hurt to do a bit of networking, too.  ;-)

Yes of course, they are always hiring for exceptional experienced hires as consulting is a role where people leave regularly so there is a need to fill in the talent gap year round.

Yes, they are - they hire experienced hires year round. If you are interested in applying, I suggest starting to network by reaching out to people at the firms, and/or attending industry events.

experienced hires recruit depends on the needs of the specific office. I would recommend to reach out the NYC office and ask directly or connect with someone in MBB in the competence center you want to join (ideally Partner level) and ask.
