1400 5-star reviews across platforms | 600+ offers | Highest-rated case book on Amazon | Uni lecturer in US, Asia, EU

Hi there,

Yes, they do. Hiring is in full swing for professional hires. I have a feeling that this is the case even more so than for graduate hires and interns at the moment (where I saw a slight dip this year).

Have a look at my recent reviews from experienced hires who received an offer with McKinsey within the US.

Cheers,

Florian

Hi Florian - Are you able to share any more information on the extended offers for experienced hires recently, such as level and offices? I'm an experienced hire candidate and my experience has been the opposite. In June I received referrals and spoke to recruiting for all MBB, indicating I would interview but was told that there is no hiring outside of campus until at least fall. Now that I've followed up in the fall, have been told still on hold until next year at the earliest. Looking at midwest offices as a post-MBA experienced hire. Thought it would be year-round as you mentioned so it's been frustrating to wait like this. Just looking for insights as I try to navigate the timing.
Thanks

Dear Anonymous A.,

The top tier consulting firms hire throughout the year for those coming outside the designated tracks for Undergrad and MBA recruiting. This is especially true for McKinsey and BCG (to which I can speak from personal experience)…I'm less familiar with Bain.

More important than the length of experience you have is the quality of it and how you can bring that to life with a strong resume and compelling cover letter. It won't hurt to do a bit of networking, too.  ;-)

All the best!

Yes of course, they are always hiring for exceptional experienced hires as consulting is a role where people leave regularly so there is a need to fill in the talent gap year round.

Yes,

And this trend is accelerating across all large, generalist firms.

Hello!

Yes, they are. However, in Europe at least, confirmed that the recruiting targets have been reduced given the situation.

Cheers,

Hi there,

Yes. MBB hires year round (sometimes aggressively, sometimes less aggressively).

Get networking!

Hello,

Yes, they are - they hire experienced hires year round. If you are interested in applying, I suggest starting to network by reaching out to people at the firms, and/or attending industry events.

Thanks for your answer! How do people typically connect with the offices directly? Would it be through the contact form on their website?

Yes they do. This month alone 5 of my US mentees received offers (from Senior Consultant (pre-Project Leader) up to Associate Partner / Principal).
