For experienced hires, what is the Mckinsey recruiter screening pass rate? How long after initial call do they inform if candidates have advanced to R1?

Hi,

No firm publishes this, so anything you read is an estimate. My understanding of your question is about the resume screening stage, so: for experienced hires that's the hardest filter in the process, and the pass rate is low, typically in the low single digits. It varies enormously by profile though. A referral can move your odds far above that number.

On timing, expect a few days to two weeks, with about a week being most common. Experienced hire pipelines move less predictably than campus ones, because the recruiter often needs to align with the practice or office before scheduling. A slow reply isn't a bad sign. After two weeks, a short follow-up email is appropriate.
