Final round MBB advanced candidate, could I reach out to other firms for an interview?

I'm currently in the bridge program for one of the MBBs with a final round next month. I haven't applied to the other 2 as full time positions for advanced candidates open next month, would I be able to reach out to the other firms for an interview?

Hi Derek,

Q: I haven't applied to the other 2 as full time positions for advanced candidates open next month, would I be able to reach out to the other firms for an interview?

You might reach out, but until you secure an offer, you probably won’t have much leverage to speed up the process.

If you do manage to get an offer, though, you will have leverage and they might let you start the process earlier on.

Good luck!

Hi Derek,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • I would definitely advise you to seek interviews with other consulting firms to increase your chances of actually getting an offer in the end.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming final round interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Derek,

You should absolutely do that.

It's super critical to diversify your application to ensure better success rates.

At the end of the day, the preparation is virtually the same for all firms. And since you cannot fully control for the outcome of each individual interview, it only makes sense to try and have as many changes as possible at landing an offer.

You might want to consult this guide on how to build a diversified application strategy:

Yes you should definitely interview in many places anyway to maximize your chances of making it in. What type of bridge program are you in? Most do not lead to an offer, but help with getting an interview for a first round, so it should not matter anyway.

Hi there,

You can and should reach out if you prefer to work for one of the other two. No harm in doing so!

All the best with your prep!
