Do MBB firms strictly prohibit employees sending slides & models to personal email?

I am curious whether MBB firms "strictly prohibits" employees sending any presentation slides (project already completed) or business/financial models to their personal email. I have head that some firms don't care about this act. But not sure what is the case in MBB firms.

Strictly Prohibited! And this is also put in writing in the employment contract. If you are caught doing so, you will be in big trouble as its all firm's IP.

No one in their right frame of mind should ever advice ways of keeping documents specially in writing...for example in this forum. Rest is up to you really :)

Please do not do this! MBB consultants generally work with market-moving information. You are not even allowed to talk about a lot of this work outside the job...exposing this information to an insecure personal email will get you into serious trouble.

If you want to save a particular slide design/layout or model outline, please please please completely and full sanitize the document beforehand. I mean replace every single word with "xxx"

Hello!

Yes, indeed. 100%.

Even the PCs are wired in a way in which you cannot put things into a normal pen-drive, needs to be one specifically provided and with a code.

Hope it helps!

Hey there,

Don't do this. In general, sharing documents even within the firm via email has decreased significantly over the last couple of years in MBB with the introduction of solutions such as Box, etc.

In the best case, this could raise some eyebrows. In the worst, the data might leak. Just don't.

Cheers,

Florian

Absolutely - client confidentiality and privacy laws are in place for a reason. Many firms (esp in the US) are recording email traffic in case of litigations - dont do it!
