I had a McKinsey first round interview last week on Thursday, and I have performed average. Yesterday the interviewer has called me and told that I haven't passed further, confirming my weak parts.
However, the dashboard has not changed, it is still “In progress”.
I had an idea whether it can be a 1st April joke?)
Sadly, it's not.
It's just that the recruitment system has not been updated yet.
I'm sorry to hear you received a rejection. It's a great achievement that you reached the final round.
Make sure that you get their feedback so you have clarity on what you need to work on going forward. And feel free to share that feedback with so we can give you some advice on how to work on it.

Unfortunately I am afraid this simply means the dashboard has not been updated. I would recommend trying to identify the weak areas and work on them for the next applications.

unfortunately it counts whatever the interviewer has told you. The system status will get updated soon most likely. Take this as a learning for your next interviews. Sounds like you already knew what didn’t go well before the call but factor in all the feedback you received as you prepare for your future applications.

Sorry, I doubt it was a joke. Sometimes they'll take a couple of days before updating the system (is not done by the same person).
