CV and Cover Letter Review

Hello eevryone,

I’m applying for a Consultant role at Bain & Company as an experienced hire with 4+ years of experience. I know how competitive the process can be and would really appreciate it if any volunteers, ex-Managers, or Partners could review my CV and cover letter to share feedback or suggestions on how I could improve them.

Thanks so much in advance for your support!

Hi,

If i were looking for a free review:

  •  I'd cold Linkedin msg people who are either ex or current mbb or consulting and ask for their help - if you're strapped on cash, explain so.
  • I'd ask my old university if they have a careers council who can help.
  • I'd go through my peer group and see if anyones ex or currently in consulting and ask each of them for help.

Here is PrepLounge's free cv templates: https://www.preplounge.com/en/cv-templates  for you to have a look.

Honestly, a good cv, is: clearly written, all of your actions are backed up numerically or quantifiably and everything is true.

Good luck and happy to chat!

Hi,

Great to see you are proactive about making your application as strong as possible.

Just some food for thought: there are many coaches who would fit your profile, but if you are asking for a free/pro bono review, you'd at best get some high level points which would not really be as impactful. Many coaches provide this as a service because they would spend the necessary amount of time to go through the CV in detail and also provide tangible / practical advice on how to make it even better.

If you would still like quick glance over your CV, happy to do that for you, just send it over :)

Getting a professional CV review is the best ROI you could possibly get in you recruiting journey. Esp because if well done it positions you immediately within the top of candidates.

You can indeed try to piece together feedback from different places and different people, but you won't have the impact of a coherently, experly reviewed CV.

If you're interested in some help, feel free to reach out and I can walk you through the process.

Also, if you're at the application stage, you might find this guide useful:

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

That’s a great move — for experienced-hire roles at Bain, the CV and cover letter really need to show both impact and leadership. A few quick tips before you get feedback:

  • Make your CV results-driven — start every bullet with an action verb and quantify outcomes (e.g. “Delivered €5M in cost savings through process redesign”).
  • Emphasize strategic thinking and client exposure, not just operational execution.
  • Highlight progression and leadership — show how your role evolved over time.
  • In your cover letter, lead with a sharp “why Bain” paragraph and tie it to Bain’s culture, your experience, and your career vision.
  • Keep it concise — 3 paragraphs max and under one page.

Happy to help you refine it – feel free to reach out.

Best,
Evelina

Great to see that you're thinking strategically on getting into consulting.

From a Middle East MBB perspective I'd be happy to share some high level view.

Of course for a more in depth review and assessment with recommendation typically it is a paid service.

Hi,

happy to review your documents, but it would need to be a paid service for actionable, detailed feedback. Just reach out if you are interested!

Hi there,

You're right in that it's a competitive process, and 4 years of experience is a good foundation. I’d be happy to review your CV and cover letter, where the feedback would be much more detailed and useful if we go over it together in a booked coaching session.
