Hi everyone,
I graduated with a First-Class degree in Business Management from the University of Exeter last summer. At the time of graduating, I didn’t have much work experience or any internships, but I was very keen to pursue a career in consulting. To build my CV, I’ve spent the past 9 months completing three 3-month internships — one in property investment, one focused in CRM/ marketing, and one in corporate finance at a property company.
I’m now actively applying to consulting roles/ grad schemes in London, but I’m finding it difficult to come across graduate openings — many seem closed or no mention of it. I am not coming from an economics or STEM background - do I still have a shot? (and I’m not targeting MBB, but more Tier 2 firms and strong boutiques).
Do I still stand a realistic chance of breaking into consulting,
Tips on how to best position my background and experience,
Whether I should consider alternative paths for now (e.g., relevant roles in industry) and reapply later.
Thanks in advance for your help!
