BCG Pymetrics Question

Hi!

I'm an undergrad at a target school that recently completed the BCG Pymetrics game.

The problem is, I got a very high risk tolerance rating (even though I would consider myself a very risk-averse person). The test also says I'm not good at interpreting emotions,  and that I contextualize information. Outside of that, I think everything else was fine.

Does anyone actually know how the pymetrics game is used for screening? I have a referral and have a pretty strong resume, but how does HR use the results from this game?

Hello!

Agree with other coaches, don´t worry too much about it since it indicates preferences (and it can be easily tricked, hence it cannot be taken very seriously).

In any case, as a general rule when interviewing, try not to worry about the things u cannot control, such as this one :)

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

Don't worry too much about the pymetrics test.

Having an optimal resume and having networked effectively  (especially with a referral) are really the most sure-fire ways to improve your chances.

Hi there,

Don't worry too much about it. The test is taken into account together with all the other application documents you have (including the referral), so it's highly unlikely to be rejected on this basis alone.

Best,

Cristian

Hello,

I wouldn't place too much emphasis on how you feel the pymetrics game reflects your personality. A good resume and a referral (in particular) are far more important in ensuring success in the recruiting process. I would advise to start practicing cases and behavioral questions in preparation for interviews, and focus on parts of the recruiting process that you have some degree of control over.

Hey there,

Pymetrics test is a psychometric test, it only indicates your preference towards certain types of behaviours. It is not used to eliminate candidates but can be available as a data point for interviewers that will assess you. Interviewers will most likely not put too much emphasis on these results.

Thanks

Hi there,

Even BCG states that the test alone is not sufficient to decide on approvals or rejections. It is just another data point to match and compare your profile with the ‘desired’ profile of a BCG consultant.

I would not worry about it too much since the rest of your application seems to be strong!

Fingers crossed!

Cheers,

Florian
