May I ask why you have this focus? Is this in preparation for interviews with a specialized consultancy?

For companies in CPG for example, marketing is deeply embedded in the entire value creation process. Hence, questions could cover just about anything from R&D to after sales.

I know this may not be what you're looking for but I don't want you to create and focus on a misleading shortlist of topics you may encounter.

That being said, if you have the right approach to case interviews, it really shouldn't matter what is being asked of you and whether or not it's related to marketing or something else.

Dear candidate, it could be questions around improving sales and marketing, customer targeting, customer journey mapping, customer experience management, improving marketing analytics, branding, messaging, product launch, marketing channel optimisation or even - a bit further down the line pricing.

• How would you launch x product
• What would be your marketing strategy for x
• When branding x item, what would you look to do
• If your customer group is x, what would be the best way to reach them
• Given x and y constraint, how would you go about z

This is a completely random guessed based on nothing, but maybe they'll ask about things like Corporate Strategy, Brand Strategy, Customer Strategy, Innovation Strategy, and Data Analytics (takeaway: read their website!)

I suggest you to prepare both a classic framework (as suggested by the other coaches) as well as the impact of digitalization on marketing, e.g. Machine learning.
