Entry-level salaries for an investment analyst in a boutique investment bank in the UAE can vary, but generally fall within the following range:

  • AED 240,000 to AED 420,000 annually (approximately $65,000 to $114,000 USD). Some sources indicate this could even go up to AED 600,000 for entry-level.

It's important to note that:

  • Boutique banks often offer competitive compensation, sometimes even higher than larger "bulge bracket" banks, particularly in terms of bonuses. One source indicated an average total compensation of $494,250 USD for boutique banks in 2024, which includes both salary and bonus.
  • The total compensation includes a base salary and a significant bonus. Bonuses can be a large portion of the overall package, especially for top performers.
  • Experience level (0-3 years) is the typical range for an analyst position.
  • Tax-free salaries in the UAE are a major draw, although US citizens still need to report and pay taxes on worldwide income, with an exemption on the first ~$120,000 per year.

While the figures provide a general idea, specific salaries can depend on factors such as the firm's size, its performance, individual performance, and the overall market conditions.

Hey!

In boutique investment banks in the UAE, entry-level investment analysts typically earn between AED 95,000 and AED 150,000 annually as base salary. Total compensation, including performance-based bonuses, can increase this amount, though bonuses are often smaller compared to larger institutions.

While firms like Citi and Goldman Sachs offer higher base salaries and larger bonuses, boutique banks may provide more direct exposure to deal execution and client interaction, which can be valuable for career development.

I have a friend working as an investment analyst in Dubai, and from what I know, entry-level salaries in boutique investment banks can vary a lot. The base salary starts around 95,000-150,000 AED per year, but total comp (including bonuses) can push it higher. In larger banks, like Citi or GS, analysts can make 250,000+ AED, but boutiques typically pay less upfront with more performance-based bonuses. Hope this helps!
