Lazard Frankfurt recruiting process

Hi,
I’m interested in applying for a full-time analyst role at Lazard’s Frankfurt office, ideally after my Master’s. I was wondering if anyone could share what the recruitment timeline looks like, how important German fluency is, and whether the process is very different from London or Paris.

Any tips would be amazing. Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

German language skills are usually expected at a very high level, typically C1–C2, especially for roles that involve direct client interaction.

The interview process may be similar to what you'd see in London or Paris, but each office can have its own focus or structure, so speaking to someone who’s been through the Frankfurt process can really help.

Best of luck with your application!

Hey there,

The recruitment process typically begins in early autumn with applications, followed by first and final-round interviews focusing on technical skills and cultural fit. Fluency in German is highly valued due to client-facing work, though exceptional candidates with limited German may still be considered.

Compared to London or Paris, Frankfurt has a more relationship-driven, boutique feel. Strong financial knowledge, relevant internships, and international experience will boost your profile. Tailor your application to show genuine interest in the Frankfurt office. Preparation and clarity in motivation are key to standing out.

Lazard Frankfurt typically recruits on a rolling basis, with applications opening in late summer/early fall for full-time roles. The process is similar to London: CV screening, online tests or case, followed by 1–2 rounds of interviews (mix of technical + fit).

German fluency is usually required, since many clients and deals are local. If you're not fluent, consider applying to London or Paris instead, where English-only roles are more common.

Know your CV cold, prep strong for technicals, and be ready to explain why Frankfurt specifically.
