Offer negotiation Evercore

Hey all, I just got an offer from Evercore and I have an upcoming call to go over the details. I know their salary structure is generally fixed, but I’m not sure if there’s room to negotiate or if they offer sign-on/relocation bonuses.

Would it be better to bring this up during the call or wait, review the contract, and reach out later? Anyone with experience negotiating at Evercore?

Congrats on the offer! While I don’t have direct experience with Evercore, in investment banking, salary is often fixed, but there can be some flexibility with sign-on or relocation bonuses. Here’s what I’d suggest:

  • Listen first: During the call, pay close attention to the details they share without immediately bringing up negotiations.
  • Review the contract: It’s usually better to see the full offer in writing first. This gives you a clearer picture and stronger footing for any follow-up questions.
  • Reach out later: After reviewing, you can follow up with well-prepared questions or requests. Framing it as clarifying details rather than negotiating can come across better.

If you want to strategize on how to approach this, feel free to reach out. I’d be happy to help you prepare!

Hey there,

congrats on the offer! ?

Evercore's salary structure is pretty standardized, especially at the junior level, but there’s sometimes room for sign-on or relocation bonuses depending on the office and hiring needs. If you want to maximize your chances, I’d recommend waiting until you’ve reviewed the full offer letter before bringing anything up. That way, you can go into the conversation informed and strategic.

Once you have the details, you can frame it as a clarification rather than a demand—something like: “I really appreciate the offer and am excited about the opportunity. I just wanted to check if there’s flexibility on a sign-on bonus or relocation support.” Worst case, they say no, but you won’t hurt your standing by asking.

If you would like support for the negotiation, feel free to reach out!

Evercore’s salary structure is generally fixed, but there might still be some room for negotiation, particularly for bonuses (sign-on, relocation, etc.).
