I am applying for a consulting internship at a company with an office in my college city. The office was made this year so I can not find any recruiters for this specific location. I could find an office contact on their site who is a partner. Should I address my cover letter for the application to the office contact or keep looking for a recruiter?

Hi there!

You can address it to the ‘Hiring Team’.

Don't worry too much about it. This really won't make a big difference.

If you don't have a clear contact then a more general formulation works well instead.

Best,
Cristian

Hello,

"Hiring Team” or “Hiring Manager”  is fine!

Hi there,

Q: Should I address my cover letter for the application to the office contact or keep looking for a recruiter?

If you cannot find the relevant HR person to address the cover letter, you can simply write “Dear recruiting team”.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

In addition to the opening, which has been covered by others already, you should consider closing with “Yours faithfully, [Name]”, as opposed to “Sincerely, [Name]" or others. The latter is used when the recipient is unknown.

It's a small detail but the most consistent, and form generally matters.

Best of luck!

Moritz
