What's the best outfit for an INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEW on Zoom with a partner?

Hello! I noticed Zoom meetings tend to have a casual attire. Want to avoid an overdone look. Shall I wear a jacket? Thanks!

Hi,

I would suggest that you should follow the “minimizing risk” strategy and wear a formal jacket.

You will be surprised but partners and senior leadership pay a lot of attention to the way you dress and as it demonstrates your personality as well.

Good luck!

Hi,

In these situations its always better to be overdressed than underdressed. With that being said, a plain white, well-pressed shirt is probably a safe bet. Jacket optional.

Don't wear a t-shirt, try and wear a buttoned down shirt. Jacket helps but is not necessary in my opinion

Hi A!

You need to be as presentable as possible. So wear a button shirt and/or jacket. Not your home t-shirt

Hello!

I would find the right equilibrium by having a white shirt and optional a jacket on top. No tie.

However, don´t think of wearing anything "below". In these cases, is better to be overdressed that under.

Best,

Clara

Hi there,

I agree with the other comments, in these cases it is better to be overdressed than underdressed.

I would go for a shirt and a suit jacket, no need for a tie.

Best,

Francesco

Hi Anonymous,

White short without tie is enough, jacket is optional.

Whenever in doubt, go for slightly more formal then less, but above style is a safe bet.

Hope that helps - if so, please be so kind and give it a thumbs-up with the green upvote button below!

I agree with the rest - definitely better to be over-dressed.

I actually think tie depends on the office location - what country are you in? (I.e. Australia I would say no tie, but Germany I would say tie)

Hi there,

I would recommend you be dressed up for as good as possible. Not only a jacket, but also a costume to make a better impression.

Do you need any further help?

All the best,

GB
