Hey,

I was invited to take pymetrics in the next 48 hours - any tips on how to ace it?

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation from BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • Generally speaking, the BCG Pymetrics pre-interview assessment will be a mix of the McKinsey Solve pre-interview assessment (i.e., the form of games) and the psychometric personality test of the Bain Sova pre-interview assessment (i.e., assessing personality traits). You will be required to play different games that focus on different personality traits to test your cultural fit.
  • Therefore, I would advise you to familiarize yourself with the format and types of games, and utilize any practice materials or mock tests that might be available. Since it is in the form of games, it might also make sense to practice playing games that are similar to the ones in the BCG Pymetrics.
  • Lastly, since the BCG Pymetrics pre-interview assessment tests your cultural fit by assessing personality traits, I would advise you to carefully consider the personality traits being tested and how they would be desirable in a (BCG) consultant. This might guide you in answering the questions.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

There is no “acing” this game. It's a behavioral test and is informative. Please just answer honestly/truthfully.

The best way to ensure you get invited to interview is by having the best resume possible and networking extensively before you get the test.

Hi!

Take a look online at some examples to familiarise yourself with the format. This way, you know what to expect so you can better focus on the answers during the real test.

At the end of the day, this is more of a personality / behavioral test, so you can't really ‘ace’ it in that sense.

Good luck!
Cristian
