probability

Need full explanation: Task 1 Emma makes a straight prism with an equilateral triangle as its base from a net labeled as shown in the adjacent figure. She uses the prism as a 'thrower, where the letter at the bottom is considered to be rolled. Show: If the probability of rolling M A T H E is greater than the probability of rolling EM M A, then the probability of rolling T E E is greater than 1/64

Hi FIlip,

While I highly doubt that the question is in any way related to strategy consulting, I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • The probabilities of an irregular dice are not easily decipherable, as it depends on the specific design of the dice and factors such as the distribution of weight, size, and material of the faces.
  • To determine the probabilities of an irregular dice, you would need to perform experiments and measure the outcomes. For example, rolling the dice multiple times and counting the number of times each face lands on the bottom. From these measurements, you can calculate the probability of each face landing on the bottom.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to address your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

M A T H E is greater than the probability of rolling EM M A, then the probability of rolling T E E is greater than 1/64

Remember, equilateral triangle has perfectly even sides.

M is a triangle. So is A.

T H and E are rectangles.

M + A + T + H + E > E + M  + M +A

You need to use the formula for area of a rectangle and area of an euilateral triangle to compare these shape combinations.

Looks like something from an IQ test on steroids. Good thing this is not part of consulting interviews/recruitment processes anymore, generally speaking.

It is an interesting problem but… why is this is related to consulting?
