Hi All,
Is McKinsey PEI marking criteria available online? Want to get a feel for what they ask for.
Hello!
No, there is none, this a secret as well kep as the CocaCola recipie. McKinsey would never share it.
However, there are many good proxis to it. In this regard, the "Integrated FIT guide for MBB" has been recently published in PrepLounge´s shop (https://www.preplounge.com/en/shop/tests-2/integrated-fit-guide-for-mbb-34)
It provides an end-to-end preparation for all three MBB interviews, tackling each firms particularities and combining key concepts review and a hands-on methodology. Following the book, the candidate will prepare his/her stories by practicing with over 50 real questions and leveraging special frameworks and worksheets that guide step-by-step, developed by the author and her experience as a Master in Management professor and coach. Finally, as further guidance, the guide encompasses over 20 examples from real candidates.
Furthermore, you can find 3 free cases in the PrepL case regarding FIT preparation:
Feel free to PM me for disccount codes for the Integrated FIT Guide, since we still have some left from the launch!
Actually, McKinsey is not sharing it publicly. But having 12+ years of coaching experience and McKinsey mackgroud, I can give an indicators and benchmarks which you can follow and use in your interview.
If you need any help, feel free to reach out.

No, but this site provides a pretty good rundown of what's looked for. https://www.myconsultingoffer.org/case-study-interview-prep/mckinsey-pei/
Hey there, with PEI interviews, whether its McK or any other consulting company, they are basically trying to asses FIT i.e do you fit in with the firms values. So make sure you understand the values (e.g leadership, trust, structured thinking etc etc) and prepare for your interviews to bring this out.
You will not find any official rating/ranking criteria published by the consulting firms. Your prep must be holistic.
Good luck!
That would be highly questionable and McKinsey frequently scans the public domain to ensure priviliged information like that is not leaked.
What McKinsey looks for is very clear on the website: personal impact, problem solving, inclusive leadership and entreprenurship. PEI questions are oriented around these dimensions.
Hi Ken, thank you for your frank and honest input! Appreciate this,
