Hello everyone. I recently received an email from Oliver Wyman Middle East regarding online tests following my application 3 months ago. The email says

There are two blocks in this test. You will have 35 minutes for the test. We recommend to dedicate approximately 20 minutes for the first part and 15 minutes for the second.

  1. Mandatory part: 18 questions of various types, for which you need to either choose only one correct answer in the task or enter the value yourself.
  2. Optional part: 5 mixed questions, multiple-choice and open-ended questions. There will not be any penalties if you skip this block, but it provides you with an opportunity to improve your overall result and test your additional skills in working with data

I was under the impression that the test will be some SHL style test with numerical, verbal, and inductive questions. This test appears to be from a software called “qualtrics”, which I've never used before. Does anyone have any information regarding this test? Thank you very much in advance!

Hi there,

Qualtrics is the platform that develops the surveys.

If you have questions regarding the format or content of the test, also don't hesitate to reach out directly to the recruiter. You should have a clear idea of what to expect in the actual test before you do it.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

Agreed with Pedro here. Qualtrics is a (very awesome tool) for surveys with lots of data anlysis.

The test should be exactly as they have indicated. Sounds very SHL style (so, leverage all of the practice Bain SOVA, BCG Chatbot, other SHL tests )

Good luck!

Sorry, do not want to be mean but how do you guys coach if you do not even know what the test at one of the leading firms you place to entails?

30% off in April 2024 | Bain | EY-Parthenon | Roland Berger | Market Sizing | DARDEN MBA

Qualtrics is a tool to develop surveys. So while they used qualtrics to develop the test, that company itself has no influence in the content of the test.

Thank you for the answer. Does that mean I should expect OW’s test after this survey?

My guess is that the test was build on qualtrics, i.e., when you go to qualtrics you get the test.

Hello,

Ian and Pedro are spot on here. Don't worry about Qualtrics - that's just a platform people use to make surveys, so it seems like they coded the test up in it. I think it wouldn't hurt to reach out to the recruiter to see if they can give you more specific guidance about the test, but otherwise I think your best bet would be to practice with materials for standard online tests for consulting like BCG's Chatbot, Bain SOVA, etc.

Best of luck!
