Hi all,

I am filtering my MBA schools options, and I am finding Jack Welch Management institute MBA program is suitable and customized to my industry (healthcare).

Any insights about this school? Does it have a good reputation?

Hi there,

I think this is an interesting question that may be relevant for many people. I would be happy to share my thoughts on it:

  • In terms of reputation, JWMI has received mixed reviews. Some students and alumni have reported positive experiences with the program, citing the rigorous curriculum and relevant course content. However, others have criticized the program for its high tuition cost and limited networking opportunities.
  • It's worth noting that JWMI is not accredited by any of the major business school accreditation bodies, such as the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). This may impact the perceived value and credibility of the program, as accreditation is often seen as a marker of quality in higher education.
  • Ultimately, whether or not JWMI is a good fit for you will depend on your personal goals and priorities. It may be helpful to research and compare the program to other MBA options, and to speak with current students or alumni to get a more nuanced understanding of the program.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to address your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

No intention of offending anyone here, but I haven't heard of it. Which means that it's not one of the target schools for the top firms.

However, it might be the top school within your industry and if you're planning on developing an industry-specific value proposition, then it makes sense to go for this one.

Best,

Cristian

I've never heard of it.

In general, you want to avoid MBAs that are not in the top 20.

Tread carefully…

I have never heard of this MBA programme. I would advise you look at where the alumni work after the programme to see if it is likely to be the right choice for you.

Hi there,

It depends on your goals. Do you want to use it as a springboard to move into MBB in the US? Then it is likely not a good idea as it's far from a target school for top-tier consulting firms.

Do you want to establish your profile in your current industry and this uni has an excellent reputation, then go for it (do your research about alumni).

Cheers,

Florian

It's a recent school. Not great if you want to get into consulting. Can't say about healthcare - you'll have to do your own research and should actually ask them that question.
