Is McKinsey even hiring generalists?

In my school offers went out only to implementation folks. Not to generalists. What is going on within McK??

McKinsey offers w/o final round interviews - 100% risk-free - 10+ years MBB coaching experience - Multiple book author

Hi Anonymous,

Not sure about your location which you did not specify, but in Europe entry-level generalits are hired. (experienced hires follow another principle anyway..)

Hope this helps - if so, please be so kind to give it a thumbs-up with the green upvote button below!

Yes, they are. Depends on geography and level in organisation but they 100% are hiring generalists. I literally just had a coachee get an offer for McK NY!

Could be your school, the country you're in, or just a fluke.

Hi,

Yes, McK is hiring them. I acknowledge that implementation hiring as a proportion has increased mostly because of the expected work in the next 3-5 years in implementation, transformation, etc. thanks to the post-covid scenario.

However, the generalist hiring still continues and we have approached several clients in the last couple of months to prepare for the generalist position.

Maybe you could clear that with someone from your school or just contact HR to find that out if you are really interested in this question. Maybe your particular local office isn't hiring.

Are you interested in the role?

Best, Gaurav
