Hi,

If the contract with a big 4 mentions a non-compete clause with a competitor within the country for two years, would this cause an issue if moving to MBB? If so, how to resolve this to enable to a seamless move?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

No, it does not apply. You can easily switch the jobs unless you are a Partner. Might be harder in that case

The non-compete from Big 4 is in case that if you jump ship to another Big 4. MBB don't count as competitors, unless you are a Partner then there might be implications, in which case you just need to find new clients and don't touch your old client for 2 years.

Best,

Emily

big 4 are not direct competitors of MBB, so this clause wouldn't apply in my opinion

Hi, do you mean in the application process? There's no problem in applying for MBB if you are a big-4 consultant.
