DHL Europe - Management Consulting

Hello!

Wish everyone a great week ahead.

So, I have an upcoming interview process with DHL Europe for the Management Consultant position. It is expected to be an entry-level role after my Master's degree.

Has anyone been to that process recently? I would like to get more insights on the case interviews (are the cases more operations-focused?) and roleplay interviews.

I am aware of that that any type of case can come but just want to get more insights!

Thank you very much!

All the best,

E

Hi there,

congrats to the interview invite. I interviewed with them some years back for the same level and I do have a few colleagues that interviewed for an after MBA position. Based on that, here are my observations:

  • Supply Chain / Ops focused: Almost all the cases had a focus on supply chain or operations, or some adjacent areas such as digitisation or sustainability.
  • Fit matters: I think DHL places a lot of emphasis on fit. It means in order to stand out show that you are a passionate for Supply Chain / Ops related projects and about DHL in general.
  • In-house vs. external consulting: Be ready to explain why you prefer in-house over external consulting (especially if it is your 1st job after university).

Hope it helps. Good luck with the interviews.

Best, Daniel

Hi there,

It's great that you're proactive and reaching out to the community.

For firms such as DHL there might be fewer applicants here on the platform, so I would also suggest the following two tips:

1. Reach out to HR. It's totally ok to ask them more information about the format of the interview. Of course they can't disclose the actual content questions, but they should be able to tell you for instance whether you can expect cases from any topic (general) or from a specific industry (e.g., logistics). Something like this can then make a huge difference in your preparation.

2. Reach out to people who were hired in that firm in a similar role within the last 6 months. These are people who are fresh out of the recruitment process and who probably feel really good about somebody asking for their advice. Aim to connect with them and learn more about the recruitment process but also of their first perception of the job. You can use the following guide to conduct these conversations:

Best,
Cristian

Hello,

Congratulations on getting an interview! I'd recommend reaching out to recruiting to ask them what you should expect in the interview. You could also reach out to people currently working at DHL consulting to learn more about what the application process was like for them.

Short of that, I would prepare for standard consulting case + behavioral interviews, with more focus on logistics and operations.

Hi there,

Congrats on the interview!

First, reach out to them to better understand the process - it's not a problem to ask!

Second, while you should technically be prepared for “anything”, given it is DHL you should absolutely spend more time making sure you know logistics, supply chain, operations, etc. topics
