Melina

Hi Melina,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, and contrary to what other coaches have said, as long as you are applying to the DACH region, there is no need to limit yourself to a one-page resume. Both recruiters and interviewers are interested in finding out more about your work experience, so deliberately limiting it would not be a wise move.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming applications, pre-interview assessments and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi Melina,

Alles Gute! :-)

Hi Melina!
It wouldn't be a huge problem for your CV to be 2 pages long, as long as the content is relevant and not long-winded. If you're applying for consulting companies, it is probable that you can fit everything in one page, because rather than listing your activities in past jobs, you will select worth-mentioning achievements. E.g.: Instead of listing: Designated Key user of SAP; Created for KPIs of area ABC; you will say: Conducted analysis on ABC that generated X in savings; Executed project A contributing to increase customer satisfaction by X%, etc.

Contact me if you need further guidance.
Best,
Mari

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian, vielen Dank dafür! Das hilft mir sehr weiter :)

Please sum up your CV into 1 page (10.5 minimum font size)!

Conciseness is a core skill for consultants - if you are not able to summarize the most important points of your life so far into 1 page it will for sure not be viewed positively by the recruiter.

Hey there,

I have worked directly with recruiting and seen their process for screening CV's. There is no hard and fast rule that CVs should be 1 page.

For as long as the content is relevant and paints you in the best light possible, you can consider making your CV 2 pages

All the best
